Summer Algebra work for the class of 2014

I hope you all are having a fabulous summer! Enjoy your time off because we will all be back together at SNA before you know it! Below is a reminder of the summer work.  Be sure to follow the directions so you can start off your 8th grade year strong!

Summer work for 8th grade Algebra

If you have misplaced your copy of the summer work packet, please email me at kdeneve@sna-panthers.org and I will email you an attachment of the pdf file of the packet.  Below is a reminder of the directions for compleeting the packet to receive full credit. Remember you want to start your 8th grade year out strong!

  • You must complete your work on looseleaf
  • You must work out every problem completely
  • You must show your work!!!!!
  • You will turn this in the first week of school for a grade.

8th Grade textbook website:  Contains video lessons for each section, extra practice, and other helpful websites: (Chapter 0 will be very helpful.)

7th Grade textbook website:  Contains video lessons for each section, extra practice, and other helpful websites.

Mathops:  Contains targeted instruction on specific topics.  Pay special attention to Section 1 and Section 2.

Algebasics: Contains videos lessons on varying Algebra concepts.

Don’t forget about reviewing the basics!  Here are some websites that cover a variety of basic math concepts.

Summer work for advanced Algebra
**Additional note for Advanced Algebra students.**
Please remember that you can email me if you are struggling. I can point you in the right direction.  Youtube also has great videos of teachers teaching the lessons. With a little bit of searching, you can have your own personal tutor! If you type in the title of the section in the search bar, you should find helpful videos. If you need help finding good videos, please let me know!

·       Complete all work and take notes in a new notebook.  I will be collecting and reviewing your work the first week of school.  You must show work in order to receive credit. This will be the first grade of your 8th grade year! You will be taking a test over Chapter 1 and Chapter 2 in the first 2 weeks of school.
·       You must show all work for the problems assigned.
·       You must check every answer with the back of the book.
o     Read each section that is assigned.
o     Take notes from the section.
o     Watch the personal tutor lessons on http://glencoe.mcgraw-hill.com/sites/0078884861/student_view0/  (Choose the chapter and the lesson number on the drop boxes on the left. Click on the Personal Tutor link)
o     Complete the problems listed below.  Use the provided websites for extra help if needed.
